First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has spoken out after a glass bottle injured a member of Celtic's backroom staff.

In an interview with LBC News, she said: "This sort of behaviour is not acceptable.

"Whether it happens at a football match or on the street, throwing glass bottles is just not acceptable.

"It’s mindless, thuggish behaviour and it has no place in any civilised society."

The incident happened at yesterday's Rangers vs Celtic game, which saw the Hoops take the win.

Police Scotland has confirmed that an investigation is underway.

A spokesperson said:"We are aware of a glass bottle being thrown at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow during the Rangers vs Celtic match on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

“One man has sustained injuries as a result of this and required treatment.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
