Every day Public Health Scotland confirms the total number of positive cases from each region. The map display goes from white (for the lowest number of cases) through to dark red (for the highest).

The latest daily figures show Scotland has recorded 8656 new cases of coronavirus.

No further deaths of Covid-19 patients were reported, though registration offices tend to be closed at weekends. 

The death toll under this measure - of people who died within 28 days of testing positive - is 10,869.

The Scottish Government figures now include people who have been reinfected with the disease, as well as people who have tested positive for the first time.

The figures also reveal that 1360 people were in hospital on Monday with recently confirmed Covid-19. There were 18 people in intensive care.

In terms of the vaccination effort, 4,438,528 people have received their first jag, 4,162,451 have received their second, and 3,451,358 have received a third dose or booster.
