BORIS Johnson’s crisis is showing no signs of slowing down as yet another aide has quit his Downing Street operation.

The news of the departure of Elena Narozanski, a special adviser in the No 10 policy unit, follows four key aides having quit in a matter of hours on Thursday night.

Johnson’s chief of staff, principal private secretary, director of communications, and policy chief all quit Downing Street almost at once.

Following the first resignation, Munira Mirza’s, former chief adviser Dominic Cummings said to expect a “mad scramble” away from the Prime Minister.

Martin Reynolds, Jack Doyle, and Dan Rosenfield then quit in quick succession.

The loss of Mirza alone was described by one No 10 official in overtly dramatic terms. “Boris will feel more sorrow than Mary did watching Christ on the cross. It’s that level of void left in his life,” they reportedly said.

The fifth resignation early on Friday morning will pile further pressure on the Prime Minister as he aims to avoid a vote of no confidence in his leadership.

Narozanski was listed as earning between £80,000-£84,999 having been personally appointed by Johnson in the Government’s list of special advisers last year (Spads).

Supporters of the Prime Minister have claimed that the exodus from No 10 is part of a planned revamp of the Government's operations following the Partygate scandal.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has spoken out against Johnson amid the crisis, offering a rebuke after he "parroted fascists" with his Jimmy Savile slure aimed at Keir Starmer.
