The National:

MICHAEL Gove thinks it would be a “great thing” to have the House of Lords sit in Glasgow. The people of Glasgow seem to have different ideas.

The Levelling Up Minister said that those poor peers of the realm will be left homeless during the time it will take to spend £14 billion renovating the Houses of Parliament.

So where are they to go?

Glasgow, or York, are apparently on the list. Those London-based Lords are probably eyeing up the juicy travel expense cheques already.

But whether the famously welcoming people of Scotland’s largest city would be quite so hospitable to their unelected lawmakers would have to be seen.

We asked a few Scots what they thought of the potential plan to bring the Lords north of the Border.

So what does the fact the people of Glasgow don’t really seem to want the House of Lords to come to their city mean?

Most likely it won’t matter, it’s not like the Tories have form when it comes to listening to the will of the Scottish people anyway.
