ANOTHER Tory MP has withdrawn his support of the embattled Prime Minister and submitted a no-confidence letter against him.

Gary Streeter, for South West Devon, took to social media today to announce he had written to the 1922 Committee calling for a motion of no-confidence in Boris Johnson.

The former shadow minister said he “cannot reconcile the pain and sacrifice of the vast majority of the British Public during lockdown with the attitude and activities of those working in Downing Street”.

Streeter, who has been an MP since 1992, said he had previously told constituents to wait for the results of the Sue Gray report into lockdown-busting parties.

The report found there had been serial “failures of leadership and judgement” and a boozy culture at Downing Street during the pandemic.

Following the findings of Gray’s report, Streeter said: “I have now submitted a letter seeking a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister.

“I have not come to this decision lightly. It is not my intention to say any more about this matter."

He is now the seventh MP to publicly confirm they have written to the 1922 Committee calling for Johnson’s resignation – and third today.

Earlier on Wednesday, former minister Tobias Ellwood went public as did Anthony Mangnall.

Partygate allegations have flared up again after the Telegraph revealed the Prime Minister attended another party in 2020.

The Metropolitan Police is currently investigating 12 events at Downing Street which Gray believes broke the rules.
