ALL Under One Banner (AUOB) has announced when it will hold the first “mass mobilisation of 2022” in a renewed push for Scottish independence.

The campaigning organisation said that it aims to organise “as broad a platform as possible” in an effort to bring the Yes movement together.

AUOB said it will be contacting “all pro-independence political parties and seeking representation from across the Yes movement”.

A post on Twitter asked people who they would like to see take to the stage at AUOB marches in 2022.

Previous AUOB rallies have seen a wide range of speakers from multiple different parties and organisations

The first of 2022's demonstrations will be held in Paisley on March 5. There will then be one held every month until October, spanning towns and cities across Scotland.

The full list of events is as follows:

  • 5 March - Paisley
  • 2 April - Arbroath
  • 14 May - Glasgow
  • 11 June - Dumfries
  • 25 June - Bannockburn
  • 30 July - Faslane
  • 20 August - Inverness
  • 10 September - Falkirk
  • 1 October - Edinburgh

The announcement was made on Tuesday, the two year anniversary of as many as 80,000 people marching through Glasgow.

AUOB wrote on Twitter: “#OTD in 2020 80K marched for independence through the streets of Glasgow. Soon on 5 March the 1st mass mobilisation of 2022 takes place at Paisley.

“The movement has always risen to the challenge, so if we can mobilise a tenth of what we did then it will be phenomenal #AUOBPaisley”

The campaigning organisation added: “This year we have to take to the streets in our masses - not for any political party or leader, and not because we expect these marches to themselves bring independence.

“We will march for us - to rejuvenate, grow and feel our own power. We require the stamina. Let's cultivate it.”
