MAKERS of Scotland’s number one craft lager, Innis & Gunn, are all set to open their fifth Brewery Taproom bar - their second in the city of Glasgow.

Relevant permissions have been lodged for the site of the new bar, with plans to take over a vacant outlet on West Nile Street - currently home to Doner Haus and cocktail bar The Courtyard, but mostly lacking in traditional pubs and bars.

The venue is due to open in summer next year and is set to be Innis & Gunn’s largest to date. With floorspace of over 4000 square feet, there will be plenty of room for thirsty customers.

The Brewery Taprooms offer customers quality pub grub, ranging from small plates to filling bar snacks, along with a variety of drinks to choose from.

The city centre bar will house over 21 craft beers on tap, meaning customers will be able to sample Innis & Gunn’s full range as well as peruse their limited-edition beers and featured “guest” beers from a range of breweries.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy brewery-fresh Innis & Gunn Tank Lager, along with the chance to attend “Brew School”, where beer-lovers will be able to make their very own.

Continuing their long-running partnership with “premium social gaming brand” SHUFL, Innis & Gunn plan on installing shuffleboard tables in the new venue, offering drinkers a chance to show off their competitive side.

Innis & Gunn is a proudly accredited Living Wage Employer and the new site will open up 50 jobs opportunities, including brewtenders, kitchen staff and management.

Dougal Gunn Sharp, founder of Innis & Gunn commented: “I am really pleased that we are in the process of creating our fifth Innis & Gunn Brewery Taproom. The location in Glasgow city centre is vibrant and we will be well aligned and in great company with a fantastic mix of local and national operators. “The Innis & Gunn Brewery Taproom concept has proved popular, and we are continually asked by our community to open more sites so they can further experience our premium bar offering and award-winning beers. We know some people travel from all over to visit our Brewery Taprooms, so this new central location responds to consumer demand and will be a great addition to both our own retail estate portfolio and to Glasgow city centre itself.”

Innis & Gunn currently operate four Brewery Taprooms - Ashton Lane, Edinburgh, Leith and Dundee. For more information, visit www.innisandgunn.com.
