ANOTHER 27 people have died in Scotland after contracting Covid, new daily figures reveal.

A further 3002 coronavirus cases were also recorded, with a positivity rate of 7.4% – down from 7.9% on Tuesday.

The deaths, among people who first tested positive in the previous 28 days, bring the total under that measure to 9618.

Some 680 people are in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, a decrease of 22.

Of those patients, 48 are in intensive care, down six.

A total of 4,349,058 people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination, 3,953,170 have received their second dose, and 1,755,694 have received a third dose or booster.
