AWARD-WINNING former Sunday Herald and Sunday National editor Richard Walker has helped put together the eight-page pro-independence paper we’ll be distributing one million copies of across Scotland.

The project is a collaboration between the SNP, The National and Believe in Scotland (BIS).

Now working with BIS, Walker returned to The National’s offices to help design the eight-page special.

Printing of the paper will begin at our presses today – and the massive logistical exercise to distribute them to SNP branches and groups who had signed up to receive them will begin on Wednesday and Thursday.

Walker said: “The Yes movement working together is stronger than its constituent parts and I hope this project marks the beginning of a combined collaborative approach to put forward a positive vision of Scotland as an independent country which proves powerful and attractive enough to convince voters it offers the best hope for our country’s future.”

It follows another collaboration with BIS earlier this year as part of the group’s Autumn of Indy Action.

We published a 24-page special also making the case for independence that was aimed at giving the wider Yes movement resources and information to help win over new voters.

National editor Callum Baird said: “It was great to have Richard back – as the editor of the Sunday Herald when it came out for Yes ahead of the referendum, many in the movement know of his important contributions already.

“We’re really proud of what this collaboration produced.”
