ANOTHER 20 people have died after contracting coronavirus, the latest Scottish Government figures show.

Scotland has also recorded a further 2233 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The death toll, among people who tested positive for Covid in the previous 28 days, has risen to 9313.

Of the 19,459 tests for the virus that reported results, 12% were positive, up from 11% the day before.

Some 753 people were in hospital yesterday with confirmed Covid-19, down 50 from the day before.

Of these, 57 were in intensive care, up three.

In terms of the vaccination effort, 4,324,440 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination and 3,918,528 have received their second dose.
