MORE than 2200 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Scotland, the latest daily figures show.

No further deaths were registered among confirmed patients, though registration offices tend to be closed at weekends.

Another 2240 cases were recorded, with a positivity rate of 10.3%.

Some 902 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid, an increase of three in 24 hours.

Of those, 57 were in intensive care, up by one.

A total of 4,308,371 people have received their first dose of a vaccination and 3,895,239 have received their second.

Since the start of the pandemic, 9052 people have died within 28 days of testing positive.
