STV presenter Sean Batty is set to host a brand new primetime series exploring how people across Scotland are coming up with innovative ways of preserving the country they love – and showing viewers how they too can make changes to help battle the global climate crisis.

Don’t Waste Scotland will see the TV favourite, who has fronted STV’s weather coverage for over 15 years, travelling across the country to meet a range of inspiring people who have Scotland’s environmental future at the forefront of their minds.

With more of us looking for greener lifestyle solutions, and the eyes of the world on Scotland as Glasgow prepares to welcome global leaders for the COP26 climate change conference, Don’t Waste Scotland will give ordinary Scots some fresh ideas for how they can protect our natural environment in their own small way.

During the series Batty meets Ayrshire paddle boarders Charlotte and Neil, who spend much of their time searching the hidden corners of Scotland’s rivers to fish out rubbish before it reaches the sea, as well as Edinburgh up-cycler Mari who repairs and restores old teddy bears and dolls in her Leith “toy hospital”.

Don’t Waste Scotland will premiere on STV at 8pm on Wednesday October 20.
