SCOTLAND has recorded more than 4000 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours according to the Scottish Government's latest data.
The latest figures show that there were 4298 cases recorded in the data for September 11 with a case positivity rate of 10.9%.
This means Scotland had a test positivity rate of more than double the 5% threshold which the World Health Organisation says indicates that the virus is under control.
The new cases are a decline on the day before when there were 6815 positive tests reported.
Another 10 deaths have also been recorded of people who recently tested positive for the virus, This brings the total under the daily measure - of people who died within 28 days of contracting Covid-19 - to 8242.
Yesterday, there was a seven-week high of Covid deaths recorded with a total of 22.
The number of coronavirus patients in hospital in Scotland has hit its highest level since late February.
Yesterday there were 985 patients with recently confirmed coronavirus, an increase of eight. Of those patients, 83 were in intensive care, a rise of one.
In terms of the vaccine effort, some 4,137,710 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,769,320 have received their second dose.
