SCOTLAND has recorded less than 6000 Covid-19 cases for the first time in more than a week in the latest daily figures.
There were 5692 new cases recorded in Scotland over the past 24 hours, representing 13.2% of the 46,146 new tests that reported results.
The latest count is the first time in eight days that daily cases have been below 6000 and is down from Monday's tally of 7065.
A further 16 deaths were recorded among people who recently tested positive for the virus, meaning the toll under this measure has risen to 8181.

There were 805 people in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid, an increase of 34 on the day before. The figure is at its highest in six months.
Of those in hospital, 77 were in intensive care, a rise of six.
A total of 4,128,998 people have now received a first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,742,826 have received a second jag.
