AS reported recently on these pages, Aberdeen Independence Movement is gearing up for its popular Big Indy Night In next Thursday, September 9, marking the eve of the SNP conference.

This year the Night In will be hosted on the Balloon virtual events platform, which allows opportunities for networking.

The National was delighted that the Aberdeen Independence Movement again gave the National’s readers a deal for discounted tickets.

There are some tickets still available, priced £10, for the event that kicks off at 7pm, bringing three hours of entertainment including a music performance from Iona Fyfe, speeches from SNP president Michael Russell, Anum Qaisar-Javed MP, Karen Adam MSP, Kirsty Blackman MP and Maggie Chapman MSP.

The event will also see Theo Forbes chat with Aberdeen South MP Stephen Flynn on politics, life and football, while Neil Gray MSP and Julie Hepburn will look at the findings of the Social Justice and Fairness Commission. Hosted by AIM co-chair Fatima Joji, the panel will give a great insight into the Commission’s report that will boost the indyref2 campaign.

Stewart McDonald MP is the latest speaker to join the impressive line-up.

He tweeted: “Much looking forward to joining AIMAberdeen for their Big Indy Night In. I’ll be talking about defence, security and Scottish independence. Our work on Scotland’s security posture is well underway – it’s good to hear the MoD is catching up.”
