VACCINE-sceptic Ian Brown is being replaced by a Scottish band in this year’s TRNSMT line-up.

The Stone Roses frontman’s slot at the Glasgow festival is being taken by The Snuts.

Scottish music fans reacted furiously when Brown, who has vowed never to perform in front of a crowd which is required to be vaccinated, was announced as a headline act.

The festival, rearranged due to the pandemic, is scheduled to run at full capacity from Friday September 10 to Sunday 12.

Brown, 58, had been booked to play the main stage on the Friday but organisers have now confirmed that he has pulled out.

His place is being taken by West Lothian band The Snuts. Earlier this year, the group became the first Scottish band in 14 years to see their debut album enter the charts at Number 1.

W.L topped the Official Albums Chart, and was also the most popular album across the UK’s independent record stores.

Brown, meanwhile, has repeatedly been criticised for making bogus claims about the pandemic.

In March, he pulled out of the Neighbourhood Weekender festival in Warrington, scheduled for September, because he "refused to accept vaccination proof as condition of entry".

A few days earlier, he tweeted that he would "never ever" perform to a crowd that required to be vaccinated.

The Stone Roses singer also cancelled a tour of Ireland, claiming: "Both our islands are currently medical experimental prison camps and we are being held hostage by GOVT for big pharma".

TRNSMT has not clarified why Brown was removed from the line-up.
