PEOPLE looking up Loch Ness on Google Maps got more than they were searching for in recent days thanks to a Street View glitch.

An unexpected photograph in the place of the iconic beauty spot went viral with social media users sharing the bizarre find with one another.

The National: The Loch Ness monster

Instead of a picture of the stunning 23-mile-long loch or of anything in the water, Google Maps showed searchers a selfie of a naked man standing on a terrace outside an apartment.

Google Maps has since removed the image, which The National has pixelated above, by restricting the Street View option for the area.

“Just seen why Loch Ness is trending,” one person joked after the incident. “That’s not the sort of monster I was looking for.”

“I thought Loch Ness was trending because of Countryfile. How wrong was I,” added another.
