MIKE Russell’s article on Jul 31 – Why some choices about our future are for after indy – clearly follows the SNP trend of “Don’t do anything to prepare for independence”. The current SNP must be the only independence party in any country whose leadership advise against promoting action that could advance the cause of independence. Is this why we are still about the 50% mark rather than between 65-75% (est 85% in 1707)?

One of the most effective ways to prepare for indy is to encourage ordinary folks to participate in an open consultation about what form they want to see for indy Scotland. That’s what the Constitution for Scotland are doing now, and the results are spectacular.

As part of the past seven years of empty leadership, the pandemic is no excuse for the arrogant, forelock-tugging attitude of the current inadequate SNP leadership.
