A SCOTTISH firm is asking members of the public to nominate the “unsung heroes” of the pandemic to win a year’s supply of biscuits.

The Biscuit Baron, an Ayrshire-based firm that delivers monthly parcels packed with international treats, has launched the competition to show off the positive achievements made by people throughout the crisis.

Fraser McIntyre, the company’s director, said he wanted to celebrate the lifting of restrictions “by giving something back to the unsung heroes who have shed some light on a generally gloomy time”.

Acts to consider could include serving in the NHS, helping a neighbour with shopping, setting up video calls for older family members, supporting a charity or overcoming a major hurdle.

People are asked to submit their stories by September 1, with winning entries set to receive a year’s supply of biscuit boxes from around the world. Runners-up will also receive a biscuit prize.
