SCOTLAND has recorded nine further deaths of coronavirus patients in the past 24 hours, the latest government statistics show.
The figures also say that 1179 new cases of Covid-19 were reported over the same time period.
However, it notes that Public Health Scotland has "undertaken work to improve their Covid-19 reporting process" and as a result some of the cases reported today should have appeared in yesterday's figures.

The same caveat is applied to the testing figures, which show that 28,268 new tests for the disease reported results in the past day.
This means that 4.8% of the tests conducted were positive, which is below the 5% threhold the World Health Organisation says indicates the virus is under control.
Across Scotland yesterday there were 474 people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19. Of these, 63 were in intensive care.
In terms of the vaccine roll-out, 4,002,903 people in Scotland have received their first Covid jag. A total of 3,125,690 have also received their second dose.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
