BORIS Johnson has always fancied himself as a great Churchillian figure, he so admired him and yet I think he is the opposite of Churchill.

Boris wants to be liked and to be popular and will not go up against his back-benchers and make his case, preferring to abdicate responsibility and hand it over to others – so-called personal responsibility, otherwise known as a cop out.

It is an outrage that we have a situation where cases are rising to as bad as anything we have previously had and yet it will be left to individuals in England to decide whether or not to wear a mask or keep socially distanced. It is quite obvious he and his pals will not be travelling on public transport or working at close quarters with others at work. (Unless of course you are Matt Hancock). His actions just put so many people in danger and pave the way for confrontation.

Citizens who work on public transport do not have the authority to request people to wear a mask and indeed it could be dangerous for them to interfere with other peoples “freedoms”. Boris just proves yet again he is no leader and will not risk the wrath of his back benchers – he is not capable of the responsibility his position requires.
