SCOTTISH comedian Janey Godley is set to put out her first fiction novel after signing with a publishing house.

Godley, whose Nicola Sturgeon voice-over videos regularly go viral, said she had spent the last year in lockdown working on the book as her “favourite project”. All she has left to do is find a title, she told Twitter followers.

The comedian has signed with London-based Hodder & Stoughton to release the novel.

The National:

Godley has previously published two books – Handstands in the Dark, an “inspirational” memoir about her experience growing up in Glasgow, first released in 2005, and Frank Get the Door! Ma Feet are Killing Me, which includes transcriptions of her popular voice-overs.

Featuring illustrations by Christina Connelly, the book released last year charts Scotland’s journey through the pandemic.
