6 OUTDOOR cinema-going does not escape the eastern side of our braw wee country with Leith campervan and brewery tap room getting in on all the action and showing a double bill of the Trainspotting films (tips hat to one of Scotland and my favourite sons, the one and only Irvine Welsh).

Choose Life, choose the movies. Today 3pm at 112 Jane Street, Edinburgh.

7 A DELIGHT and wonder has blown into the most beautiful hotel in Scotland.

Chef Dean Banks has just opened a stunning new restaurant in the Waldorf Astoria Caledonian and what an experience, fine dining in the most beautiful surroundings. The food is out of this world and the service beyond exemplary (thanks Gwen).

Dean Banks is one of Scotland’s biggest foodie stars already loved for his relaxed beachy vibes at Haar but he takes food to a whole new level in the fabulous pompadour.

Scotland is not too wee or too poor or too stupid, we have the most beautiful country, the most beautiful hotels and in Dean one of the best chefs in the world. All here in our capital.

Embrace the staycation.
