SCOTLAND has recorded 974 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the latest Scottish Government figures show.
A total of 20,761 new tests for Covid-19 reported results over the past day. Of these, 5.0% of these were positive.
This means that, for the second day running, the test positivity rate has met or exceeded the 5% World Health Organisaiton threshold which indicates whether the virus is under control.
The news comes as two further deaths of people who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the 28 days prior have been recorded in Scotland.

This means that the total number of deaths in Scotland under this measure now stands at 7683.
Across Scotland, 137 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19. Of these, 17 people were in intensive care.
In terms of the vaccine roll-out, at least 3,531,461 people in Scotland have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination, and at least 2,470,181 have received their second dose.
The Government data notes that Public Health Scotland has experienced technology issues which impacted on the extraction of vaccination data. As such, the figures reported today may be an under estimate.
Any missing data will be reported in tomorrow's figures.
