THERE is still time – just – to register for today’s Radical Independence Conference 2021 which will bring people together for a much needed day of discussion, planning, strategising and training.

Starting at 11am, and running until after 5pm, the conference will feature numerous speakers and discussion sessions. It’s a Hopin event and you can register at Eventbrite.

RIC say: “This free online event will feel different to RIC conferences in the past – our focus is on participation. It will be your chance to have a say about how we take forward the independence movement – as well as networking and gaining practical skills to enable you to do that.

“Discussions taking place at the conference will include how can we take effective direct action for independence?

“How can we bring together the movements for independence and climate justice? How can activists work together across these islands to break the British state?

“We want you to be a part of this process, whether you were one of the thousands involved in RIC in the previous decade or whether you are part of the new generation of activists who will shape Scotland’s future.”

Meanwhile, Yes Dunfermline and West Fife have given advance notice of their next Zoom event at 7pm on July 6.

Convener Julian Smith told The National: “The guest speaker is National columnist Lesley Riddoch so a lively discussion is guaranteed.

“Entry is free but please register via Eventbrite.”
