SCOTLAND has recorded the most daily Covid cases since February with more than 1100 in latest figures.
Over the past 24 hours there were 1104 new coronavirus cases reported with a positivity rate of 4.1%.
Today's reported cases are also higher than a previous high on Wednesday when 1011 cases were recorded.
During the peak of the second wave after the Christmas period, around 2500 cases were being recorded a day.
It has been noted in the latest data that yesterday's figure of 735 new cases was lower than expected by approximately 150-200 cases due to "a change in the laboratory processing of specimens in the Glasgow Lighthouse lab" on Thursday.
*Public Health Scotland are aware of a change in processing of specimens in the Glasgow Lighthouse lab on 10/06/21, which resulted in slower processing.

This change resulted in yesterday's reported figures being lower than expected, by approximately 150-200 positive cases.
There were no new deaths recorded in the latest figures meaning the total number of deaths in Scotland under this measure - of people who died within 28 days of first testing positive - remains at 7679.
Some 132 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, a rise of eight on the previous day.
Of these people, 13 were in intensive care, a fall of one.
In terms of the vaccine roll-out, 3,459,063 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 2,375,246 have received their second dose.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
