SCOTTISH Tory leader Douglas Ross is self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who has now tested positive for coronavirus.

The contact informed the MSP of the positive test this morning by text at 8.40am, when Ross was already in the Scottish Parliament.

Holyrood authorities were informed immediately, the Scottish Tories say, and guidance was sought on what to do next. Ross remained in his parliamentary office during that time.

The MSP is yet to be contacted by Test and Protect.

It has been decided that Ross will self-isolate in the Edinburgh hotel he has been staying in and will get a test as soon as possible. The hotel has been informed.

Five members of staff and four MSPs will also be tested as soon as possible as a precaution, and two MSPs from another party have been informed.
