NO matter what depth the Tory government plumbs, it only seem to get more popular in UK-wide polls.
Whether its cronyism, sleaze or dawn raids, people south of the Border can’t get enough of Boris Johnson’s administration.
Every week, like clockwork, a new poll seems to suggest that the Conservatives are further extending their lead over Labour.
And it’s like clockwork that Westminster pundits succeed in disregarding Scotland, often with embarrassing consequences.

This week it was the turn of repeat offender Jeremy Vine, who dropped such a glaring clanger that the First Minister felt compelled to intervene.
The BBC and Channel 5 presenter gave his piping hot take on the latest YouGov Westminster voting intention poll.
The survey puts the Tories on 46 points, ahead of Labour on 28. The LibDems and Green are on 8 while the SNP are on 5.
Noting the Conservative lead, Vine tweeted: “EIGHTEEN POINTS? I reckon you'd have to go back to Blair in '97 to find the party in power leading by this much over the opposition.”

No you don’t actually have to go back 24 years for such an example, as Nicola Sturgeon helpfully pointed out.

Once again, the First Minister has burst the Westminster’ commentariat’s bubble.
