SCOTLAND has recorded 161 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours but no new deaths were reported in the latest figures.
The new cases show a test positivity rate of 1.6% with a total of 11,361 new tests for the virus carried out.
The latest number of cases reported in the Scottish Government figures is a fall from yesterday when 292 cases were reported with a positivity rate of 2.0%.
The latest figures show no new deaths of people who previously tested positive for Covid-19, but noted that register offices are closed on weekends.
This means that the number of people who have died in Scotland, within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, remains at 7664.
There were 68 people in Scottish hospitals yesterday with the virus, a rise of four from the previous day. There was no change in the number of patients in intensive care which remains at three.
In terms of the vaccine roll-out, 3,035,790 people have now received the first dose of the Covid jag.
The figures also show that a total of 1,638,536 have received their second vaccine dose.
