The National:

BORIS Johnson’s record in government is pants.

That’s the message from an underwear company which has taken aim at the Prime Minister over his administration’s dodgy dealings.

British Boxers, specialists in “knockout undies and nightwear”, isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to Tory ineptitude.

The Staffordshire-based firm has issued a tongue-in-cheek message on social media exposing the UK Government’s cronyism.

The National:

English voters and many Westminster journalists don’t seemed to have noticed, but Johnson and his pals on Downing Street have been implicated in scandal after scandal over coronavirus contracts.

From Matt Hancock’s neighbour to anyone that has the PM’s phone number, bumper pay deals have been handed out like sweets.

Indeed, a confectionary company was one of the firms to have got in on the action. There was also a pest control business and Ayanda Capital, “a London-based family office focused on a broad investment strategy” which delivered 50 million unusable face masks as part of a £252 million deal.

So with the Government announcing new plans for voter-IDs – to solve a problem which barely exists – British Boxers decided to get ahead of the game.

Unfortunately the company doesn't have the PM on speed dial, so it had to ask on social media.

“Hi @BorisJohnson we make pyjamas and underpants and they’re great. Can we put a tender in to do the voter ID cards please?” British Boxers tweeted.

It added: “This is the bit where we do an important reminder to donate to whatever charity you donate to. While we can debate at leisure from our armchairs about whether we should, as a society, even need charity in 2021, people literally need help now and kids are hungry.”

Let’s just hope Boris Johnson is finally on the ropes.
