TWO pocket poetry collections for nurses, midwives and teachers is set to launch.
International Nurses Day 2021 will be a global celebration of the courage, compassion and resilience displayed by nurses and midwives in their daily work.
A pocket-sized book of poetry, To Mind Your Life, contains a big-hearted appreciation of their dedication and skills and will be gifted to every graduating nurse and midwife in Scotland in 2021. The companion volume, To Learn the Future, will be gifted to graduating teachers.
Published by Polygon in partnership with the Scottish Poetry Library on May 20, it contains poems from around the world that offer reflections on kindness, exhaustion, the necessity of self-care, grace and grit and hope.
It includes poems spanning time from 19th-century American poet Emily Dickinson to Brian Bilston’s poem Kindness about the pandemic.
