THE SNP have praised The National’s new digital billboard campaign, which aims to spread the truth about Unionist leaders.
The newspaper launched the campaign across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen on Monday, highlighting messages that the Tories would rather you forget.
One billboard highlights the poem published by Boris Johnson while editor of The Spectator, calling Scots a “verminous race” and calling for Hadrian’s Wall to be rebuilt to “pen them in a ghetto on the other side”.
Another shows up Douglas Ross’s inability to multi-task. Asked why a Covid recovery and indyref2 cant both go ahead, he told STV’s Colin McKay: “You just can’t Colin.” We ask why Scotland should settle for second best.
A third focuses on a quote allegedly made by the Prime Minister, that he would rather “let the bodies pile high in their thousands” than have another lockdown.
Two witnesses who say Boris Johnson made the claim have said they would be willing to speak under oath should the Tory leader continue to deny making the comment.

Others focus on the “unelected and unaccounted” soon-to-be Baroness Davidson, while one more calls for an escape from the Westminster “House of Sleaze”.
Social posts featuring the billboards have been retweeted by senior SNP figures like Humza Yousaf and Michael Russell.
Ahead of the election, an SNP spokesperson said: “These billboards sum up how the Tories don't have Scotland's best interest at heart - they have never and will never stand up for Scotland. It is only by giving both votes to the SNP on Thursday that we can steer the country through the pandemic, into recovery and protect Scotland from the Tories at Westminster - under the experienced leadership of Nicola Sturgeon.
“It is time for Scotland's future to be in Scotland's hands - not Boris Johnson's."
This morning the leaders of Scotland’s political parties are heading to the polls to cast their own votes in the Scottish Parliament election.
Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar voted at his local polling station at Pollokshields Burgh Hall in Glasgow this morning.
Sarwar is standing against First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in the Glasgow Southside constituency, which includes Pollokshields.
Sturgeon has already voted by post but she will join SNP candidate Roza Salih at Annette Street Primary School polling station in Govanhill, Glasgow, to lend her support and meet a Syrian family as they cast their ballots.
Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater will vote at a primary school in Edinburgh, while her fellow co-leader Patrick Harvie will vote at a school in Glasgow.
Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross will vote in Moray, while Alba Party leader Alex Salmond cast his ballot in Strichen, Aberdeenshire.
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie has already voted by post.
