READERS of The National will be voting for the SNP in the constituency vote at tomorrow's election, a new poll has found.

Nearly all (90%) of the 11,110 National readers who voted said they will be voting for the SNP on the constituency vote.

Labour came in second place with 4% of of the vote, the Tories took 3% of the vote while the Greens and the LibDems came in last place with 2% and 3% respectively.

Meanwhile on the list vote, 49% of respondents said they would be backing Alba. 

Some 33% said they'd support the SNP, while 14% said they'd back the Greens.

Voters were split on their preferred outcome, with 46% saying they'd prefer an SNP majority and 43% saying they'd back an SNP minority plus a Greens and Alba "supermajority".

Asked which pro-independence leader had impressed them the most during the campaigns, 46% said Nicola Sturgeon, 43% said Alex Salmond, 6% said Lorna Slater and 4% said Patrick Harvie.

The latest Scottish Parliament election poll has predicted Nicola Sturgeon’s party will secure a majority at tomorrow’s vote.

Ipsos MORI’s survey, carried out from April 30-May 3, puts SNP support in the constituencies at 50%, down three points on last month’s poll. According to Ballot Box Scotland, this would result in the SNP securing 69 seats, four more than what is required for a majority.

The party’s list support is up one point to 39%, the poll said.

Meanwhile the Scottish Greens are at 12% in the regional list, which would give them 12 seats according to Ballot Box Scotland. This marked no change from the firm’s previous poll carried out March 29-April 4.

Scottish Labour’s support is up four points in the constituencies, according to Ipsos MORI, to 22%, while their regional list support stayed at 18%.

The Tories were on 20% in the constituency vote, marking no change, while their list backing was up two points at 23%.

The LibDems’ list support was down two points to 4% while there was no change to their constituency figure on 6%.

It comes as a Panelbase poll last week predicted the SNP will secure a majority in Holyrood with other pro-indy parties set for gains and a Yes vote for independence ahead.

The survey for the Sunday Times showed a "knife-edge" majority for the SNP but the Tories and Labour are set to lose seats.

Panelbase spoke to 1096 voters between April 28 and 30 and showed that the SNP would secure 65 seats in Holyrood with parties like Alba and the Greens expected to gain seats with a pro-independence majority of 25 seats.

The Scottish Greens are set to return a record nine MSPs and Alba are showing three. Meanwhile, the Tories are set to lose three (28 MSPs), the LibDems show a gain of one (six MSPs) and Labour are set for their worst result in Holyrood with a loss of six seats (18 MSPs).

The poll also found that support for independence stood at 52% of voters surveyed and 48% were against, when don't knows were excluded.

Another poll for The Herald showed the SNP would return 68 MSPs to Holyrood, Alba would also enter with two MSPs and the Greens also returned nine. This would mean a pro-independence majority of 29.

The BMG poll asked 1023 Scots of voting age between April 27 and 30.

It sees the Tories winning 25 seats, and Labour winning 18. This would mean a loss of six seats for each party while the LibDems would gain two.

In terms of independence support, the BMG survey showed that voters were split with 50% for and against Scotland going its own way.
