PRO-INDEPENDENCE campaign kits are now available for new subscribers in the run-up to the Scottish Parliament election.
In the run-up to the all-important May 6 vote, The National is giving away kits including a T-shirt, pin badge, face mask and car sticker to those taking out an annual digital or print subscription.

The campaign kits come in addition to all the perks of a subscription – including unlimited ad-light online access, a daily digital replica of the paper and extras like exclusive content and events.
Annual digital subscriptions are priced at £114.99 for one year, while you can save 25% on the cover price of The National with a print subscription – and you’ll be supporting your local shop.
Callum Baird (below), editor of The National, welcomed the new campaign kits, which come after polls last week showed the constitution is the top issue for many Scots. Holyrood is also looking set for a large pro-Yes majority according to all the latest voting intention surveys.
“This election is all about independence, and our supporters are all about showing off their passion for self-determination,” Baird said. “These new campaign kits are a great way to demonstrate your support for Yes at such an important time for the movement.
“There has also never been a more important time to support Scotland’s only daily pro-independence newspaper – please consider subscribing today and helping us secure independence.”

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
