RUPAUL’S Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Channey and finalist Ellie Diamond sat down with The National this week to discuss doing drag in Scotland, the financial challenges of being a performer here and Scottish independence.

Chaney, from Glasgow, and Diamond, from Dundee, spoke of their pride in flying the flag for Scotland on the show which is watched by millions of people around the world.

During the interview, Chaney also spoke of his support for Scotland leaving the Union – saying the differences between Westminster and Holyrood have been demonstrated by the coronavirus crisis.
