SCOTTISH Labour’s head of communications has quit his job just a fortnight after Anas Sarwar became the party’s new leader.

Conrad Landin had served in the role for almost 18 months, having been appointed during Richard Leonard’s reign in September 2019.

He tweeted: “I have decided that now is the right time for me to move on & to pursue new opportunities – so I am leaving my position as head of communications at Scottish Labour.

“It has been an honour & a privilege to work with and support many colleagues, party representatives and activists.”

The announcement was met with good luck messages from senior Labour politicians.

Monica Lennon replied: "Thanks for all your service to the party, Conrad and your help when I was covering health and social care. Best wishes with your new adventures."

Neil Findlay added: "Thanks for you service Conrad best wishes."

Leonard quit as party leader in January, with Sarwar defeating Lennon in the contest to succeed him.

Sarwar was officially unveiled as the new Scottish Labour chief on February 27.

A party spokesperson commented: “Conrad has been a key and committed member of our team and his contribution will be missed.

"We all wish him well as he moves on.”
