I SHARE Kirsten Oswald MP’s concerns about the naked power grab by the Tories to ignore the Barnett formula and instead directly fund projects in Scotland. This clear attack on devolution has been well sign-posted. So the question is, what are Kirsten Oswald and the SNP group of MPs – some of whom have been inhabiting the green benches of Westminster for more than 20 years – going to do about it? Is it simply another press release? Is there no other action they could take?

Could they not use their positions to disrupt the UK Parliament and make life uncomfortable for the Tory Government? It seems that the current SNP group – and the stragglers from previous groups – have simply decided to settle down in Westminster, to play the game and take their money.

If the Tory Government is so untrustworthy then why has the SNP played into their hands and put all the power of calling an independence referendum into the hands of Boris Johnson? It makes no sense.

We all know the Tories don’t care about Scotland but it’s starting to look like certain sections in the SNP don’t give a damn either as long as they get their parliamentary salaries. It’s time to put up or shut up, Ms Oswald and co. Tell us what you are going to do to resolve this, and if it involves asking for Boris’s permission then you’ve already lost! No wonder more and more SNP supporters are looking to shift their list vote to untried and untested independence parties at the Scottish elections - maybe they will have more bottle for the fight for our freedom.
