ABERDEEN’S award-winning Granite Noir crime writing festival is set to take place online amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The festival will be welcoming Nordic crime writers Jo Nesbo and Camilla Lackberg, while best-selling American novelist David Baldacci will be joining live from Virginia. Popular Scottish crime authors Ian Rankin, Stuart McBride and Peter May will also be taking part, with May discussing his novel Lockdown – about a deadly global flu pandemic, written 15 years ago, which was rejected for its “unrealistic” storyline.

And there will be a special collaboration with the Backlisted Podcast and Val McDermid to celebrate Scots author Josephine Tey’s 125th anniversary.

The festival will be taking place from February 19 to 21. More information can be found at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/made-in-aberdeen/granite-noir
