DOUGLAS Ross’s decision-making has long baffled onlookers.
Why, for instance, did he agree to become Scottish Tory leader while continuing his role as a football linesman? Does he really want to be the most unpopular person in Scotland?
Why did he recently abstain on a vote to extend Universal Credit?
Why did he vote down an amendment in the Trade Bill designed to stop the UK dealing with countries which commit genocide?

Fortunately, the Moray MP has offered insight into his cognitive process, by ruling out one of the theories about his decision making.
In another of his virtual Q&As, hosted on Facebook, Ross fielded questions from members of the public.
It took just 10 minutes for his clear headedness to be called into question.
Having revealed sensationally that he had enjoyed spaghetti bolognese for his dinner, the Scottish Tory MP picked out another question.
“I didn’t see the name there but I can assure whoever it was, I am not on magic mushrooms,” Ross stated.
“Indeed there were also no mushrooms in the spaghetti bolognese I had tonight.”
Ross faced another somewhat awkward questions when one person asked if he would “snog” Ruth Davidson.
“I’m not sure either of us would be particularly interested in that, erm, I’m not really a big one for snogging my colleagues," he replied.
The Moray MP added, totally reassuringly: "That can be confirmed by numerous of them."
