SCOTLAND has recorded a further 1782 cases of the coronavirus, the First Minister has said.

Speaking at today's live Covid briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said there had also been one further death recorded of a person who had tested positive for Covid-19.

Sturgeon warned that this figure maybe artificially low due to closure of registration offices over the weekend.

She said 97 new deaths had been registered since Friday 8, which means 4969 deaths of people who had previously tested positive for Covid have now been recorded.

The First Minister said this figure "reminds of the heartbreak being caused by this virus".
