THE founder of a small-batch Scottish tonic water producer has created the world’s first neep tonic water in time for Burns Night on January 25.

Made by Walter Gregor’s, the Scottish Neep Tonic is limited edition and only available on the company’s website for delivery in January. It is produced on site in Aberdeenshire and contains only natural ingredients including carbonated Scottish water, Scottish neep infusion, quinine and sugar.

Founder Claire Rennie, who used neeps grown on her neighbour’s farm in Aberdeenshire, said: “I love haggis but couldn’t find a suggested drink to pair with it that wasn’t whisky. As neeps and tatties are the natural accompaniment for haggis, we started experimenting with Ogilvy Vodka, a potato vodka produced on another Scottish farm in Angus.

“We discovered the infused tonic had a delicious crisp citrus flavour with an aroma of neep.”
