SCOTLAND has been placed under a full national lockdown in order to fight the spread of the new variant of coronavirus.

Today at Holyrood Nicola Sturgeon outlined the new rules which would be brought into place from midnight. These new rules include a legal stay-at-home order, the closing of schools and nurseries, the closing of places of worship, and a limit of just two people on meetings with different households.

The weight of these new restrictions will prove hard to bear, but that hasn't stopped Janey Godley from trying to put a smile on our faces.

The Scots comic has once again given the First Minister her voice-over treatment.

Godley's videos have become a light in lockdown for many. When she shared her latest video on Twitter earlier one user commented: "To take this wretched situation and make us laugh out loud is a talent and a skill - and a tonic."

Another added: "Honestly these are the videos that keep me sane. 2020 was a difficult year and made harder by the fact I can’t see my best friends in the north of England.

"Even though the news isn’t great, these videos are a laugh and glimpse of hope we all need. Thanks Janey."
