POLICE Scotland has launched an online form to allow people to more easily report breaches of Covid regulations.

The form, which is not for emergency reports, allows members of the public to inform the police of ongoing or recent coronavirus breaches from businesses, individuals, or groups.

It also allows people to report scams or cases of suspected fraud linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

The news comes after police last month reported that fraud had increased by 45% in the first six months of the 2020/21 period compared to the 2019/2020.

The form is only for reporting breaches north of the Border.

Police Scotland urged the public to ensure they are familiar with the Covid guidelines around gatherings before contacting them.

They added: “Don’t call 101 or 999 for guidance on Covid-19 restrictions.

“Misuse of 101 and 999 could cost lives.”
