WHEN reading Shona Craven’s piece yesterday on Jacob Rees-Mogg, I immediately thought of the Burns Poem Holy Willie’s Prayer (Destitution by design should shame Rees-Mogg and co, December 18).
It is longer than I remember, but the final verse says it all:
“But Lord remember me and mine.
Wi mercies temporal And divine
That I for grace and wealth may shine
Excelled by none,
And all the glory shall be Thine
Amen, Amen!”
