TO add some Christmas cheer and humour to the Christmas table this year, Scottish food producer Scotty Brand has created the perfect Christmas side dish and brand-new recipe…chips in blankets.

Christmas is unlikely to be normal this year, with people celebrating and dining in different ways.

With many people using this year as a great time to try something different for the festive feast, Scotty Brand decided to celebrate that annual sales of its Chippy Chips are up by 22%, by creating the first ever chips in blankets recipe – adding a novel and fun twist to the traditional favourite, Pigs in Blankets.

The recipe for chips in blankets serves four people and is as follows:

Ingredients

- 24 Scotty Brand Chippy Chips

- 20-24 Rashers Smoked Thin & Crispy Streaky Bacon

Method

Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.

Cut the bacon rashers in half.

Wrap a piece of bacon around each of the chippy chips to completely cover.

Place on a baking tray and cook for 18-20 minutes until golden.

Tip: For extra crispy bacon, finish by placing under the grill.
