AN exclusive EP featuring remixes by producers from their native Isle of Skye has been released digitally by critically acclaimed traditional electronic fusion band Niteworks.

An t-Eilean follows the release of Niteworks’ second album Air Fàir an Là in late 2018, and features five tracks of remixes from the album including standout hit Air Fàir an Là featuring Sian.

It also contains Do Dha Shùil with Ellen MacDonald of Dàimh and Sian, Òran Fir Ghriminis featuring Julie Fowlis, Cumhachd with Canntaireachd performed by award-winning piper Allan MacDonald of Glenuig and the instrumental Highlanders Farewell.

Producers on the EP all hail from the Isle of Skye and include

Ros T, who has been making waves in house music with releases on notable labels such as Nervous Records and Eton Messy, and Alex Martyn, known for his recent lockdown remixes of Runrig and Donnie Dotaman amongst others, all in aid of charity, Valtos, a new traditional-electronic project by Martyn MacDonald and Daniel Docherty as well as a debut solo production outing for Niteworks’ own Innes Strachan under the alias Esus.

A limited-edition set of merchandise has also been released to celebrate the EP, with all orders including a free download of An t-Eilean. The EP is released on the band’s own Comann Music label.

“It’s been great to see the abundance of electronic music talent that’s bubbling up on the Isle of Skye right now and this release is our celebration of all that talent,” said Niteworks drummer Ruairidh Graham.
