RANGERS are the odds-on favourites to win their first top-flight title since 2012 with bookies installing Steven Gerrard's men as likely champions come the end of the season.

The Ibrox club have enjoyed a superb start to the campaign and sit top of the Premiership after 15 games, boasting an 11-point gap over Celtic having played an extra two games.

The Govan outfit have yet to concede a goal at home in the league this term, and have conceded just three in the Premiership all season.

Celtic, by contrast, are in the midst of their poorest run of form for a decade and have won just two of their last 10 outings in all competitions - heaping pressure on under-fire manager Neil Lennon.

The reversal in fortunes for the two rivals has been picked up by the bookies, with Paddy Power now offering odds of 2/9 for James Tavernier to lift the trophy at the end of the season - a huge jump from their previous chances of 4/9 around a month ago.

Celtic, meanwhile, are now priced at 11/4 to seal an unprecedented tenth successive title, with the Parkhead club's odds lengthening compared to a month ago when they were given a 17/10 shot at Premiership glory.

Aberdeen are seen as an outside bet for the title and can be backed at around 250/1 on Paddy Power, while the same bookie reckons Jack Ross' Hibs have a 500/1 chance of sealing the title.
