ANOTHER 28 people have died in Scotland after contracting Covid-19, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.
The deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours and brings the total among those who have recently tested positive to 2877.
A further 999 cases were also confirmed. That is 10.3% of the total number of tests that were carried out and takes the total number of confirmed cases now to 67,011.
Of the new cases, 378 were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 207 in Lanarkshire, 128 in Lothian and 107 in Ayrshire and Arran. The remaining cases were spread across 8 other health board areas.
Some 1254 people are currently in hospital with recently confirmed coronavirus, an increase of 29 from yesterday.
Of those, and 92 people are in intensive care – a decrease of one.
