A FURTHER 28 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours.
Speaking at the Scottish Government daily briefing Nicola Sturgeon said that the total number of deaths – counted as a person who dies within 28 days of receiving a positive Covid-19 test – under that measurement now stands at 2754.
There were also 1202 new coronavirus cases recorded over the last 24 hours, representing 6.8% of all tests carried out.
The First Minister said of those new cases there were 451 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 292 in Lanarkshire, 152 in Lothian and 91 in Ayrshire and Arran.

The remaining cases were spread across nine other health board areas, with only the Western Isles not recording a new case.
There are now 1117 people in hospital with coronavirus, up 17 on the previous day.
There are also 85 people in intensive care units across Scotland, three more than the day prior.
The First Minister gave the briefing a day before the Scottish Government is expected to reveal which restriction levels each local authority area is due to enter into from November 2.
Meanwhile, the National Records of Scotland (NRS) reported that a total of 4482 people have now died in Scotland with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.
The statistics are published weekly and account for all deaths registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
They differ from the lab-confirmed coronavirus deaths announced daily by the Scottish Government because they include suspected or probable cases of Covid-19.
A total of 106 deaths relating to Covid-19 were registered between October 19 and 25, an increase of 31 from the previous week
There were 44 deaths in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 20 in Lanarkshire and 14 in Lothian.
