EACH of Scotland's 32 council areas has been given a level it is currently on in terms of the new five tier framework of restrictions.

The list, which has just been published by the Scottish Government, puts every local authority on a 0 to 4 level.

The Covid restriction level for every council area in Scotland has now been confirmed. READ MORE: Scotland lockdown: Level of Covid restriction for every council area revealed

Level 4 is the highest level of restriction and is close to the curbs in place during the Spring lockdown, while 0 is the lowest level and close to normal life.

Note: An earlier version of this article used the Cases /100k forecast column of the table published by the Scottish Government. However, the actual level a council could be put on may take account of other issues such as local hospital addmissions. This has now been changed and the figures below represent the area's current Covid level.

The "Indicators paper" which reveals the current levels and suggest possible forecasts also says no decisions have yet been made on future levels.

It adds: "Decisions will be made by Scottish Ministers, in exercise of their statutory powers in relation to public health, and implemented through regulations. It is important to note that the level appropriate for a given area at a given time may not be the same asthe signal given by the indicators.

"Wider considerations apply, including the prevalence of infection elsewhere, including in neighbouring areas, trends in the data and the effectiveness of public health measures."
